Can syphilis be treated?
Yes, of course it can!! It's a bacterial infection, remember? All bacterial infections can be CURED with antibiotics! Just a weeekly injection of penicillan until they give you the All-Clear with a blood test! Now, remember that if you are infected, you should tell all of you previous sex partners to get tested too, because you might have passed it on to them! Now, I'll show you the 3 stages of the infection just so you can be sure to get treated on the FIRST STAGE (!!!!!!!!!):
Stage One
-10-90 days after contracting syphilis: painless sore (chancre) near infected area.
-If sore is untreated, infection will spread
GET TREATED WHEN YOU NOTICE THE SORE!!!!!!!!
Stage Two
-3-16 months after contracting syphilis: rash on palms, soles, chest and/or back.
-Feel like having the flu
-Many other things like, patchy hair loss, swollen joints and glands and aching muscles.
Stage Three
This is the scary part....
IF LEFT UNTREATED:
-You may develope, 10-20 YEARS later diseases in the brain, liver, arteries, bones, heart and you may even go blind.
Scary stuff isn't it? This will hopefully make you think twice about protecting yourself during sexual intercourse.
